Screen to Stage

In 2016 I started to dabble in the performing arts to get a sense of what it's like to be in the shoes of the talent. I thought improvisation would be a great introduction with lots of transferable skills. It was not long before this became a gateway drug into indie theatre and sketch. I wanted to hone my craft as a director and break the trendy notion that's about having a "good eye". No gimmicks or clever camera work would replace good scene work - something that currently ends up lost in a sea of fashionable aesthetics. I will be directing a show at the 2018 Melbourne Fringe.

Doing Improv Differently

I crewed together with Carla Scotto and Amelia Williams to create Dark Triad, an unhinged and psychedelic improv group that were known for atmosphere, cynicism and daring wit. We did two major festivals in Melbourne; an invaluable experience in financing, marketing and creating a theatrical show.
