Jesse Vogelaar Director
Jesse Vogelaar is a NZ born, Australian director. His bold, tongue-in-cheek visuals have been curated by NOWNESS, Vimeo Staff Picks, CANAL+ and more. He has extensive experience in comedic performance & improvisation.
Jesse has previously worked on the communications team at Telstra, producing stories in every state of Australia for both internal communications and social media. He has freelanced within various agencies and production companies, dealing directly with clients such as major banks, government and start-ups (Telstra, TAC, Weploy, Museums Victoria).
Before this, he worked his way up as an editor - even dabbling in VFX, giving him a deep knowledge of post-production workflows. One of his strengths is understanding a broad array of short-hand techniques, achieving economical yet striking execution.
Using his ability to tell human stories that connect, his professional and personal work has reached viral status, being featured on influencial sites such as NOWNESS, Mashable, Pedestrian, Vimeo Staff Picks and broadcast in territories all over the world. Junkee called one of his shorts, "Australia's Greatest Work of Art”.
On the side of his film work, he has created successful shows for Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. He is actively involved in training and performing on a weekly basis.
In 2009 his short animation, Megiddo, showed at the Gallery of Modern Art (Brisbane) - pushing him to begin study at the Queensland College of Art. He graduated from the Griffith Film School in 2012.
